While WinBox is the primary tool for managing MikroTik devices, WebFig provides a crucial browser-based alternative. WebFig is essential when you need to make quick changes from a device that doesn’t have WinBox installed (like a mobile phone) or when WinBox connectivity is unavailable.
1. Verify Web Service Settings
Before you can access the router via a browser, you must confirm that the web service is enabled and note the port number.
-
In WinBox, navigate to IP > Services.

-
Locate the entry for the
wwwservice. -
Ensure the service is Enabled.
-
Note the Port number. The default is 80, but for security, many administrators change it (the video uses
8089).2. Access WebFig in a Browser
To log in to the WebFig interface, you need the router’s IP address and the correct port number.
-
Open any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
-
In the address bar, enter the router’s IP address followed by the port number, using the format:
http://[MikroTik-IP-Address]:[Port-Number](Example:
http://192.168.21.100:8089) -
You will be presented with the login screen. -
Log in using the same credentials you use for WinBox (your username and password).

3. Using the WebFig Interface
WebFig provides access to virtually all RouterOS features, though the layout is slightly different from WinBox.
-
The interface uses a tree structure on the left side (like WinBox), where you can click on any category (e.g.,
Interfaces,Wireless,IP). [01:50] -
Clicking a category opens the corresponding tables and settings in the main window.
-
You can perform all administrative tasks, such as:
-
Adding new interfaces or bridge ports.

-
Reviewing active IP services.

-
Making configuration changes right from your smartphone or tablet.
